Whirlwind of Activity
The Galaxy Studios showcase Samsung’s ecosystem of devices and services, and offer visitors hands-on experience with innovative technologies by giving them a chance to film with a 360-degree camera, play a virtual game of tennis, and try out devices at interactive demo tables.
Mesmerizing 360-Degree Experiences
Visitors will have the opportunity to step into a cylindrical room illuminated by captivating lights and patterns with a Gear 360 to capture their experience in 360-degree videos, which are shared with them at the end. Samsung Gear 360 is a 4K resolution-capable 360-degree camera that’s compact in size and records immersive digital content. With the Gear 360, users have the ability to seamlessly share, view, and edit content.
Selfies are brought to life on the Liquid Canvas in ink, oil or liquid dye as the Galaxy S8 is moved under water. Visitors get to see firsthand the benefits of IP68 water and dust resistance – the Galaxy S8 is water resistant in up to five feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Smart and Interactive Experiences
Guests are also invited to explore key features of the Galaxy S8 by placing it on an interactive smart table controlled by a glass marker with the help of multiple cameras hidden beneath the screen.
The table connects with the S8 via Wi-Fi and acts as a second screen, giving viewers an immersive view of the bezel-less Infinity Display and crisp and clear photos brought to life with the S8 camera’s Smart Auto Focus and multi-frame image processing. Visitors can also see the intelligent interface Bixby in action as it captures information from users’ surroundings and shares tips on everything from where to grab a cup of coffee to how to get to the closest gym. The table also provides the opportunity to explore Samsung Connect – a smart home network that connects the S8 with appliances and other devices to simplify day-to-day tasks, such as going through the refrigerator to check on ingredients and expiration dates. It also gives visitors a close-up view of content from Gear VR and the Gear 360.
Visitors can jump into action at the latest 4D theater with the Gear VR with Controller, where they board a spaceship and engage in a space battle, or perform stunning aircraft stunts, all while sitting in a chair. The Gear VR with Controller expands Samsung’s virtual reality ecosystem and makes it more comfortable for consumers to enjoy Gear VR experiences with its ergonomic Controller.
Fun and Fitness
Guests will work up a sweat swimming or playing tennis while wearing the Gear S3 at Galaxy Fitness stations. To play, all visitors need to do is strap on the Gear S3 and hold their hand in front of the screen while kinetic sensors detect the player’s movements for a fun and interactive experience. The Gear S3 will track the player’s activity and heart rate.
The Best in Design Concept
The Galaxy Studio has made a splash not only in key locations worldwide but also in the space of design for its sophisticated Galaxy Studio Design Toolkit, which delivers a simple but alluring invitation to potential visitors.
On July 11, the Galaxy Studio Design Toolkit was selected as a recipient of the Red Dot Award: Best of the Best in Design Concept, which recognizes groundbreaking designs for prototypes and ready-to-launch products. The Red Dot Design Award received a total of 4,724 entries this year, and 43 pieces were recognized with the Best of the Best award.
